Can you imagine living without water? No. I´m sure not.
In the Argentine Northwest, particularly in the vast and forgotten region of the Gran Chaco, this question is not a hypothesis, it is the daily reality of thousands of people.
In Argentina, where more than 50% of the population lives below the poverty line, extreme drought and lack of access to drinking water further aggravate the living conditions of those who live in this region. Communities, many of them belonging to indigenous peoples, depend on collecting water from increasingly sporadic rains and on the help of a neighbor dressed as a hero. Wells dry up and sources become contaminated.
Climate change, deforestation and lack of infrastructure intensify a silent crisis that affects both human life and the ecosystems of the region. Without water, the future of entire generations is at stake.
